About
I originate
from Glasgow
in Scotland, but am now
based near Lake Garda in
Northern
Italy.
I
have a comprehensive
background in woodwork
which started
at the age of 16 with
a
four year apprenticeship
in
patternmaking, on the
Glasgow
Clydeside, from
then for the next 25
years
working as a joiner.
My
interest in violins started
with violin lessons. To this
day
I still
play for my own enjoyment,
and it was through my love
of playing the violin that
influenced
my decision
to learn to make violins.
My
training includes
completing a 2 year
course
at Anniesland College
Glasgow
in violin making and
guitar
making and repair, followed
by a course at the world
renowned Newark
International Violin
School in
England where I
completed
2 years of making
and
1
year
of repair and setting
up
instruments.
I make and repair
violins
and am
based in Lake Garda, Northern
Italy.
