My name is Alf Gouck and I specialize in violin making and repair.

The craft of making a violin is an art, and as for the musicians who play them, it takes time, experience and practice to perfect.

Little has changed since the time of Antonio Stradivari, the 17th Century violin maker, who refined the geometry and design of the basic violin.
I use the traditional methods used by Stradivari to craft my handmade violins.

Whilst I originate from Scotland, it is important for me to be living in Italy where the evolution of the violin took place, and I now live and work in Northern Italy close to Lago De Garda, "Garda Lake", approximately 5 km from the lake in the province of Mantova.

I have an active workshop, both making and repairing violins and I enjoying a good quality of life here in Italy. Please feel free to contact me and come for a browse around my workshop and shop.
